Chad’s installed generation capacity is all heavy fuel oil-based, and primarily serves the capital, N’Djamena. Based on 2013 data, Chad’s national electrification rate is one of the lowest on the continent: the national electrification rate is 4%, (1% in rural areas, 14% in urban areas).
