One of Power Africa’s most important roles is as a matchmaker, facilitating linkages between public sector goals and private sector investment. Connecting U.S. businesses and entrepreneurs to energy development opportunities in Africa helps us advance power projects that benefit both Africans and Americans.

In November and December, Power Africa and coordinating U.S. Government agencies will take an Energy Procurement and Investment Opportunities Roadshow to several major U.S. cities, providing a forum and occasion for American companies to engage in the African energy sector.

The Energy Procurement and Investment Opportunities Roadshow is a first-of-its-kind interagency initiative, and will include the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). The Roadshow aims to shine a light on current and upcoming sector opportunities across Africa for U.S. energy equipment suppliers, project developers, operators, and investors. The Roadshow presents an invaluable opportunity for companies interested in expanding into sub-Saharan Africa.

During the week of November 30, 2015, Power Africa will be participating in a series of three panel sessions in Washington, DC, Chicago, and Los Angeles. These sessions will focus on power sector development in Africa, featuring specific opportunities for U.S. companies to work in Ghana and Benin, where recent MCC Compacts include more than $875 million in procurement and investment needs.

The last stop on the road trip, on Wednesday, December 9, will take place in Las Vegas during the PowerGen International conference. This seminar will focus on power sector opportunities across sub-Saharan Africa, with U.S. Government field experts highlighting various opportunities in countries across western, eastern and southern Africa.
