La salud y el desarrollo en el Perú tienen una historia excepcional. En los últimos 70 años los resultados en el campo de la salud han sido notables, y el presente informe da cuenta de esos éxitos y de la estrecha cooperación entre el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de América y el Gobierno del Perú. Esta colaboración empezó en 1942, y estuvo basada en el respeto mutuo y el compromiso compartido de mejorar la vida de la población, como condición fundamental para asegurar el crecimiento del sector salud en el Perú.
The story of health and development in Peru is a remarkable one. Over the last 50 years, despite many challenges, health outcomes in Peru have improved dramatically. This report tells the story of this success and the long history of close developmental cooperation between the US Government (USG) and the Government of Peru (GOP). Beginning in 1942, this collaboration was based on mutual respect and a shared commitment to improving lives, and set the stage for the growth of Peru’s health sector.

Mr. Fedotov, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime UNODC, Mr. Gumbiner Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy in Peru and Mr. Otarola President of DEVIDA, traveled to Tingo Maria to see the Peruvian experience in post eradication and alternative development with social inclusion.
The Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations of Peru, Dr. Marcela Huaita and the US Ambassador in Peru, Brian A. Nichols participated in the presentation of the "Annual Report 2014 on the state of decentralization", prepared by the ProDecentralization Program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
