Frontiers in Development’s Friday lunch session was opened by Secretary Greening, who emphasized the importance of fostering a strong private sector as the key to economic growth and ending extreme poverty. Secretary Greening also participated in the panel targeting the needs of women and girls to end extreme poverty. They discussed why gender inequality makes females more vulnerable to poverty than males. In order to end extreme poverty, she stressed the importance of reaching poor women and developing interventions that tackle their unique vulnerabilities and constraints.
