Nairobi, April 29, 2014 – The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announces an opportunity for partnership to advance regional youth centers through its Global Development Alliance (GDA).  GDAs are USAID’s premiere model for public-private partnerships, helping to improve the social and economic conditions in developing countries and deepen USAID’s development impact.  USAID is currently exploring partnerships to leverage non-governmental resources by offering up to $12 million in USAID matching funds for youth leadership centers across Africa.

April 25, Nairobi – USAID Kenya Deputy Mission Director, Dr. Tina Dooley-Jones attended the graduation of 30 Kenyan government officials who will participate in evaluating Government of Kenya investments in the power sector.

The officers attended a four-week long training to strengthen  their economic and financial analysis skills in order to improve project decision making and recommendations for resource allocation in the power sector.

First, I want to congratulate Dr. Ludeki Chweya on his recent appointment as Director General of the Kenya School of Government.

Last year, the Kenya School of Government and USAID partnered to bring a program on Investment Appraisal that received a strong support and commitment from Ministry of Devolution and Planning, Ministry of Finance, Treasury, and other key Government of Kenya entities.

The U.S. Embassy informs the media that Dr. Padma Shetty, Deputy Director of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Kenya Office of Population and Health, will represent the U.S. Government at Kenya’s World Malaria Day event in Kisumu.
