The Global Give Back Circle integrates mentoring, private sector investment and community support in a circle of empowerment that guides young disadvantaged teens to complete their educational journey, gain employable skills, and take on leadership roles as agents of change.  Participants receive scholarships, life-skills training and a dedicated mentor.  In return, the participants offer voluntary service to their communities while working with the next generation of scholarship awardees.

USAID supports the GOK and county governments to improve access to quality health services by strengthening aspects of the Kenyan health system, including human resource management and training, financing and the supply and management of critical commodities such as drugs and medical equipment. USAID also supports the Ministry of Health to strengthen its health information system and to carry out surveys on the health status of Kenyans, such as the Demographic and Health Survey, to better direct programs and investments where they are most needed.

USAID’s new Administrator Mark Green announced the United States continued commitment towards working with Kenya on food security with the selection of Kenya as one of 12 partner countries in the global hunger and food security initiative, Feed the Future. Countries were selected based on their need, their partnership with the United States and their commitment to investing effort and resources to tackle food insecurity and stunting.

Free, fair, credible and peaceful Kenyan elections in 2017 is one of the highest foreign policy priorities for the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi.  The U.S. Government has established programs to support the government and people of Kenya in realizing this goal.

Today the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) East Africa Trade and Investment Hub (the Hub) signed a grant with Generation Program Kenya Limited, a local subsidiary of the McKinsey Social Initiative, to create 2,000 full-time jobs and provide over 100,000 hours in skills development for young people in the apparel industry.
