USAID Hosts first Annual Evaluation Learning Event in Hanoi

Monday, September 5, 2016

On August 26, the Evaluation Learning symposium disseminated findings from three USAID evaluations and five partner donor agencies to monitoring and evaluation experts and development stakeholders in Vietnam. In addition to showcasing the USAID's evaluation policy and recent evaluation work, the event demonstrated USAID's commitment to international donor collaboration. Four international development stakeholders (United Nations Development Program, the Australian Embassy, Catholic Relief Services and the Asian Development Bank) also presented recent evaluation findings at the symposium. More than 140 development practitioners attended the event. Sharing findings from what works in development , and, perhaps more importantly, what does not, reflects commitment at the highest levels to elevate the importance of monitoring, evaluation and learning in our development assistance. Based on the successful launch, the symposium will become an annual event. New development partners have already expressed interest in participating in the 2017 event.
