Emergency Response Teams in Nam Dinh Ready for 2016 Storms

Monday, September 5, 2016

With support from USAID’s Vietnam Forests and Deltas (VFD) Program, rescue supplies have been distributed to nine communes in three coastal districts of Nam Dinh province. The package, which includes basic supplies like life-vests, lifebuoys, safety helmets, flashlights, FM radios, megaphones, and first aid kits, helps trained emergency response teams (ERTs) to effectively and safely respond to disasters during the 2016 disaster season. The latest distribution took place before the landfall of Dianmu storm that hit the Red River Delta and northern provinces from Quang Ninh to Ninh Binh. In addition to supplies, VFD has successfully provided Community Action for Disaster Response trainings to nearly 50 ERTs in Nam Dinh and Long An provinces so far, with rescue supply distribution to 27 ERTs.
