Durban, South Africa - USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah released the following statement today:
Through its partnerships with the Governments of Denmark (with UNICEF as an implementing partner), and the United States of America (USAID, with RTI International as an implementing partner), the Government of South Africa has established 37 TCCs throughout the country and are currently in the process of establishing 16 more.
PRETORIA – In response to a request from the South African Department of Social Development, the United States Mission to South Africa, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has provided over R350,000 of financial assistance to Rescue South Africa (RSA) to provide emergency relief services to flood-impacted South Africans.
The Elliotdale Rural Water Supply Project is to be officially launched at the Nchihana Village, near Elliotdale, by the Executive Mayor of Amathole District Municipality, Alderman Sakhumzi Somyo, at a function to be held on Wednesday, 26 January 2011.
USAID’s Regional HIV/AIDS Program (RHAP) works within ten sub-Saharan African countries to help health workers, mothers, children and community locals with limited resources and congested hospitals deal with the impact of the pandemic.
