The recent World Bank’s Doing Business Report 2017, released on October 25th ranks Kosovo four positions ahead of last years’ report: from 64th to 60th worldwide. The Doing Business Report evaluates the ease of doing business across 190 world economies.

USAID/Kosovo Economc Growth Office Director, Brian Martalus, visited Lypjan/Lipljan on October 14th to inaugurate a new apple grading line at the AMA facilities in the village of Llugaxhi.  In 2015 the “Agrovizioni,” “Me-Agro,” and “Agrounion” companies established AMA as a joint entity to strengthen their economic position in the fruit and vegetable sector.

October 7, Ambassador Greg Delawie spoke at the inaugural ceremony of the Women’s Economic Forum (WEF). The WEF is an independent body that aims to bring together organizations and individuals under one umbrella to speak with a unified voice on women’s economic development.

Chargée d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Pristina Colleen Hyland spoke at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at OSA Termosistem on October 13th, inaugurating a new, more energy efficient production line.  OSA produces a range of thermal-technical equipment for cooling, heating, and ventilation. 

A USAID grant of $27,500 enabled the company to finance the purchase of polyurethane injection equipment for all of their insulated products, replacing their highly-outdated technology.
