Some current laws are easily challenged as Assembly members have little access to the kind of outside opinion and expert research and analysis that strengthens legislative debate and decision-making.

Differences matter in Kosovo. USAID, through its activities with Kosovo’s civil society, is working to build an inclusive society where the human rights of all groups are respected. The importance of social inclusion was highlighted at a December 8 conference in Pristina that brought together key stakeholders dealing with vulnerable and marginalized groups.

USAID-supported project are improving the lives of citizens in the Peja/Pec region, according to the citizens of Belopolje/Bellopojë and Gorazdevac/Gorazhdec. USAID Mission Director James Hope and Mayor Gazmend Muhaxheri spoke to the residents of these two villages on November 22, 2016 during the inauguration of the new water pump station in Belopolje/Bellopojë and public street lighting in Gorazdevac/Gorazhdec.

Ambassador Delawie helped kick of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in Kosovo on November 14 with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship in Kosovo.  GEW in Kosovo celebrated the achievements of Kosovo’s many entrepreneurs, specifically women, youth, investors and scale-ups.
