Representatives of 16 Indonesian government agencies attended intense consultations on July 25, 2016, to ensure CEGAH is aligned

The Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and 15 other Indonesian government agencies launched CEGAH, a five year, $20.8 million program to strengthen the nation’s anti-corruption efforts. CEGAH will provide ongoing support to government and civil society to create systems that decrease opportunities for corruption.

The Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) have partnered to bring a team of seven experts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to provide training from August 22-26 to Indonesian officials from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Customs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and managers from the major Indonesian fishing ports in Manado on how to implement effective Port State Measures.

U.S. Chargé d ‘Affairs Brian McFeeters hosted a reception to send off 47 Indonesian professionals to the United States who received scholarships from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The scholarships were awarded under two USAID programs: Program to Extend Scholarships and Training to Achieve Sustainable Impacts (PRESTASI) and the Governing Oil Palm Landscapes for Sustainability (GOLS) program, a joint initiative between USAID and the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR).
