SAN SALVADOR– Over a hundred people attended the launching of the SolucionES (Solutions) crime prevention project in the municipality of Ciudad Arce, La Libertad. SolucionES is an innovative public-private partnership designed to prevent crime and violence in 50 communities in five high-risk municipalities of El Salvador through a joint effort with the private sector and municipal governments.
SAN SALVADOR–The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Municipality of San Salvador inaugurated a modern computer training center, located in the Work Training Center in the capital city, to help increase employment opportunities for youth.
SAN SALVADOR–With the goal of increasing the security of Salvadorans, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Justice and Public Security launched USAID’s Crime and Violence Prevention Project. This project directly supports the Partnership for Growth agreement between the U.S. and Salvadoran governments to increase security for Salvadoran citizens.
USAID and the Salvadoran Ministry of Finance inaugurated an educational area called Exprésate (Express Yourself), to teach young students ages 15 to 20 the importance of tax collection for the country and the population’s well-being.
The Exprésate center was developed as an awareness-raising strategy aimed at students from public and private schools, following consultations by the Ministry of Finance with private sector and civil society organizations in order to establish a fiscal transparency policy.
SAN SALVADOR–USAID and the Salvadoran Ministry of Education (MINED) launched a new Education for Children and Youth activity that will support the creation of safe learning environments and will improve the quality of education for lower secondary students in 750 schools, thus optimizing learning results and increasing ninth grade completion rates to benefit at least 100,000 students. Moreover, a safe learning environments program will be implemented to reduce school violence in 25 high-risk municipalities in support of the prevention programs that MINED is implementing to
