January 9, 2014, Lomé, Togo: The United States Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), has launched Agir pour la Planification Familiale (AgirPF), a five-year regional family planning project that will be based in Lomé and implemented in five countries: Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mauritania, Niger, and Togo.
Accra, Ghana — During a press roundtable briefing, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) presented USAID Ghana’s new Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) for 2013-2017. Today at the University Abdou Moumouni Dioffo in Niamey, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) honored eleven recipients of scholarships awarded through the USAID West Africa Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Program (USAID WA-WASH). The WA-WASH scholarships provide funds to students pursuing Master’s Degrees in the fields of Soil and Water Conservation, Innovation Communication, Development Studies, and Science.
The Washington Fellowship is the flagship program of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative. President Obama launched YALI in 2010 to support young African leaders as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across Africa.
