Friday, August 4, 2017

Occupational Therapy (OT), a relatively new practice in Vietnam, is one of three vital rehabilitation interventions (along with Physical and Speech/Language Therapy) that improves persons with disabilities’ independence and enables participation in social activities.  USAID recently hosted Vietnam’s first OT professionals meeting, bringing together more than fifty practitioners from the Ministry of Health, hospitals and universities. So What? This meeting is an important step towards improving the quality and availability of holistic rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities in Vietnam. Therapies such as OT will enable them to live independently, receive education, achieve employment, and become more productive citizens.
