Subotica – On May 12, 2017, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a U.S. government agency, donated two mobile electrocardiogram (EKG) machines to the Subotica Public Health Center, which oversees health services for the entire Subotica municipality. The EKG machines will enable health professionals working at facilities in the villages of Bajmok and Ćantavir to diagnose the needs of patients seeking emergency medical care.
On April 28, 2017, the United States and the Government of Serbia signed amendments to two bi-lateral assistance agreements.
On March 17, 2017 the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation with the support of USAID, a U.S. government agency marked the closure of the Divac Youth Fund project at the “Youth in Charge” Conference.
Belgrade – On March 15, 2017, over 70 representatives from the parliament, public and private sectors, independent institutions, local governments, disabled people’s organizations, and election monitoring organizations participated in the National Conference on Political Participation of Persons with Disabilities. The Conference marked the closure of the Center for Independent Living’s (CIL) Strengthening Political Participation of Persons with Disabilities project funded by USAID, a U.S. government agency.
SUBOTICA – On March 8, 2017, in honor of International Women’s Day, the renovated Center for Social Welfare in Subotica was officially inaugurated. The reconstruction worth $70,000 was funded by USAID, a U.S. government agency . Local authorities identified the Center’s renovation as a top priority for the municipality, given the increased demand for the Center’s services following last year’s influx of refugees and migrants.
According to the results of the second public opinion survey on Serbian citizen attitudes towards the European migration and refugee crisis, 47 percent of citizens have positive attitudes towards refugees and migrants, 34 percent have a negative attitude, while 18.5 percent are neutral.
USAID’s Business Enabling Project today released the findings of its sixth annual Serbian Business Survey. The survey, which reflects 1,000 Serbian businesses’ opinions on the state of Serbia’s business environment, showed recent reforms are making it easier for them to operate.

The second "Parliament Week" under the slogan "The Floor is Yours" was officially launched at the National Assembly today. "Parliament Week" is organized by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Open Parliament Initiative in cooperation with 60 partner organizations and institutions and with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the British Embassy in Belgrade.
