The winners of the Madrasati Ajmal “Towards a More Beautiful School” competition were announced today by the USAID-funded Yarmouk Community Enhancement Team (CET).  The winners were Al-Seeleh Secondary School for Girls, Kharja Secondary School for Boys, Khadeeja Bint Khuwailed Elementary School for Girls, Al-Khairiyeh Mixed Elementary School, and Um Kalthoum Mixed Elementary School.

Jordan's Ministry of Environment and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) today launched a two-day workshop on the use of biosolids to improve soil and stimulate plant growth. Bio-solids are nutrient-rich materials that are a byproduct of wastewater treatment that can be applied as a soil conditioner to stimulate plant growth for grazing in semi-arid areas.

Girls in Tech, a U.S.-based non-profit organization that helps women cultivate ideas and careers around entrepreneurship and technology, launched its Jordan chapter today with the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Network for Jordanian Industrial Sustainability (The Network) hosted today a workshop in Aqaba to discuss energy efficiency, alternative energy and energy audits. This was the fourth in a series of energy events, and participants at the workshop represented many different sectors including academia, industry members, service providers, and regulatory body representatives.
