Top managers of more than sixty Kyrgyz companies producing textile and food products and chief executives of more than twenty Kazakh trading companies (importers) will take part in a business matchmaking conference to be held in Bishkek on March 12-13, 2014. The event is organized by the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Almaty Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the USAID’s Regional Economic Cooperation Project as a follow-up of the Third Central Asian Trade Forum that was held in Almaty in October 2013. The objectives of the event are to build export capacity, facilitate trade between the two countries and stimulate commercial partnership of Kyrgyz and Kazakh entrepreneurs.

The agenda of the business matchmaking conference includes a panel session to address bilateral trade-economic issues and a session of business-to-business meetings. Kyrgyz participants of the matchmaking event will also have the opportunity to showcase their export products.

Viktor Prodedovich, Chief of Party of the REC Project, notes: “The REC Project assist Central Asian businesses build export capacity for them to go international.  This business matchmaking conference provides participants with an opportunity to establish enduring business relationships, exchange information, and display their products. As Kyrgyz textile and food production industries offer high quality products and relatively low prices, and Kyrgyz participants of the event represent these two sectors,  we hope that this matchmaking event will result in signing trading contracts for supply of Kyrgyz textile and food products to Kazakhstan”.
