Cate Johnson delivers remarks at the launch of People First

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Embassy of Sweden in Albania announced today that The Headhunter has been selected to implement “People First: Growth in Tourism through Qualified Human Resources” (“People First”), a human resources-focused approach to stimulating job growth and job placement in Albania’s tourism sector.

The "Justice for All" coalition of civil society organizations (a USAID initiative, along with 14 other civil society groups, issued a joint statement last week expressing concern over justice reform's slow progress to date, despite commitments by the political parties in July to hasten reform's implementation.

Today, Senior Deputy Assistant to Administrator of USAID’s Europe and Eurasia Bureau, Margot Ellis, visited the Mirësia Wheelchair Factory and with wheelchair users who benefited from the factory’s work. USAID funds ARDF’s wheelchair service which is offered to the wheelchair users among the estimated 7,000 Albanians with mobility needs.

USAID and local solutions partner, AAC Lushnja, in collaboration with Konispol Municipality organized last weekend the Mandarin Festival in Xarre, Mursi. The Minister of Energy and Industry, Mr. Damian Gjiknuri, Parliament Deputies, Konispol, Sarande and Delvine Mayors, Vlore and Saranda Regional Directorates of Agriculture, extension agents, citrus growers, consolidators and exporters participated in the event.
