The Palestinian Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector has grown rapidly over the last three years to approximately 250 mostly small-sized companies, employing approximately 6,000 professionals. Nearly 2,000 students graduate from Palestinian universities annually in ICT-related fields – a number that is rapidly increasing. Recognizing the potential of this sector, USAID’s efforts link leading American companies with Palestinian entrepreneurs to promote economic development in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Authority Ministry of Agriculture launched last week, onJune 7, 2012, the first government laboratory for the testing of meat and dairy products for international export, with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

On Wednesday, June 13, 2012, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) celebrated the successful installation of Raba’s first ever water distribution network and reservoir. The celebration was attended by Governor of Jenin Talal Dweikat, USAID Mission Director Michael T. Harvey,  Head of the PWA Shaddad Al-Attili, Head of Raba Village Council Mu’ayad Bazour, and ANERA Country Director Paul Butler.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the release of its Essential Package of Services for Primary Health Care Centers and Clinics at an event held in Jericho today.  The Essential Package of Services details standards for health service delivery to be used by the Ministry for comprehensive planning in the reform and development process, and includes active participation of citizens, service providers and planning administrations.
