On May 19th was the inauguration of the shelter of the project Madres Adolescentes que Progresan, located in the district of Nuevo Progreso, Tocache province, San Martin region.
The project will benefit more than 400 teenage mothers in urban and rural areas that are pregnant or have one or more children; more than 300 adolescents who receive vocational guidance; and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, who are dedicated to process chocolate products. Thus, it seeks to support the entire population of the district, close to 13,000 people.
The event was attended by various authorities like the acting mayor, Mr. David Pérez López; DEVIDA representative, Mr. Panaifo Del Aguila; the teacher and local coordinator of the project, Dorila Perez; the administrator of USAID project in Peru, Carla Queirolo and the Head of the Regional Program Office of USAID Peru, Gregory Swarin.
