ExpoAlimentaria 2014- Inauguration of the Cocoa and Coffee pavilion

On August 28th, 2014.  the Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy in Peru, Mr. Lawrence Gumbiner along with the President of The Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (DEVIDA) Mr. Alberto Otarola, inaugurated the Cocoa and Coffee Pavilion. The Alliance Cacao Peru, with the support of USAID participated in the ExpoAlimentaria with the objective to promote the fine and flavor cocoa as an opportunity of sustainable business and vehicle for social inclusion of families in the amazonian region.  It is expected that the 30 producer organizations from the Monzon Valley, Apurimac, Mantaro and Ene River Valley, Ucayali and San Martin will make sales of over 40 million dollars. The ExpoAlimentaria is the biggest international fair of foods and beverages in Latin America. It receives more than 38 thousand visitors and more than 650 companies exhibit their products and the latest in technology.
