Expo Cacao Tocache

On Tuesday, December 3, 2013 the fifth edition of Expo Cacao Tocache was launched.  Expo Cacao is a result of the work of the Technical Cocoa Committee, a regional strategic alliance to consolidate commercial blocks for cocoa that will allow placing quality grain for the world.   Expo Cacao brings together experts in gastronomy, bakery, chocolatier and regional Amazon mixology, promising a variety and good seasoning of their dishes and innovations.   This fifth edition of Expo Cacao Tocache has over 30 stands of producers and business organizations that display a variety of cocoa products.  Expo Cacao will also feature expert presentations, a food fair and art shows in order to show the world the productive potential of Tocache.    Participating organizations include chocolate companies of Mariscal Cáceres, Huallaga and Tocache provinces in San Martin Region, and also implementers of the USAID Alternative Development Program.

Expo Cacao Tocache was organized by the Cocoa Technical Committee:  San Martin Regional Government (GORESAM), local governments of the provinces of Mariscal Cáceres, Huallaga and Tocache in the San Martin Region, National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (DEVIDA), amongst other public and private institutions.

USAID collaborated with this event with the intervention of these partners:  The Peru Cocoa Alliance which contributed with an informational stand and provided an international expert for the event presentation and TechnoServe which co-organized the fair, was in charge of the Business Round Table and also provided a stand for cacao producer organizations.
