Digital Inclusion, a program of USAID and CEDRO- Information and Education Center for Drug Abuse Prevention- launched its 25th technology center in Huicungo, in the San Martin region in the Amazon.

The ceremony was presided over by Alejandro Vassilaqui CEDRO Executive Director, and Ted Gehr USAID Deputy Director via teleconference from Lima.

This launch took place as part of the activities held to celebrate CEDRO’s 28th anniversary of foundation and the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The Digital Inclusion program aims to promote access to information and communication technology resources and strengthen social and economic inclusion, thereby, facilitating communities to transition from illicit to licit crops, and build resilience against narco-trafficking.

These technology centers are development centers that teach rural communities through customized training models how to use technology to improve their livelihoods, income, businesses and quality of life.
