USAID Peru Deputy Director Erik Janowsky attended the celebratory event of the Indigenous Landscapes Consortium for the conservation and sustainable development of the Amazon Biome.
Under USAID’s Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon (ICAA) umbrella, the Indigenous Landscapes Consortium has implemented biodiversity conservation activities for 10 years.
This program has operated in the Amazon regions of Peru and Ecuador, giving priority to the improvement of the livelihoods of people who depend on Amazon resources for their survival. Special emphasis was given to working with indigenous groups respecting their ancestral culture and values.
