The International Foundation for the Electoral System (IFES) recently concluded a 4-day workshop for Libyan Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with the aim of familiarizing them on Electoral Campaign Finance Monitoring (CFM). The workshop focused on International Best Practices regulating CFM while helping the CSOs develop a methodological framework which would enable them to observe the electoral cycle in Libya. Ad hoc tools to effectively monitor political contributions and spending were also discussed.

With the support of USAID and its partner, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), Libya’s High National Election Commission (HNEC) launched the first handicapped-accessible website in Libya. This new website is expected to help people with disabilities stay updated and pave the way for improving the inclusion of this minority community in the electoral process.

In 2015, USAID convened a four-day gathering of representatives from Libyan disabled people's organizations (DPOs), in Djerba, Tunisia, to develop a strategy for increased inclusion and accessibility in Libya's electoral process.
