The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), in cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and the Sohag Chamber of Commerce, inaugurated a new business services center in Sohag yesterday. The Tamayouz Center, a one-stop shop for business registration and operation in Egypt, will improve the ease of doing business in Sohag.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), in cooperation with Blue Moon LTD, inaugurated a new produce handling center in Nubaria yesterday. The produce handling center provides modern processing and storage facilities for Egypt’s burgeoning high-value produce export market.

Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply and Domestic Trade, celebrated the launch of custom-made software that enables information sharing between commercial registry offices in Giza, Cairo, and Alexandria.  According to the Ministry, this software reduces the time to register a business from 24 hours to 10 minutes.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), in cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and the Port Said Chamber of Commerce, celebrated the success of a new business services center in Port Said. Since its opening in February, the Port Said Tamayouz Center has provided services for over 21,000 customers.

The U.S. Government announced yesterday that over 23,000 malnourished Egyptian children have regained their normal growth potential through a project that taught health care workers new techniques to improve nutrition and reduce maternal and infant mortality.  Through the USAID-funded SmartChoices for Healthy Living project, Save the Children trained more than 3,000 health service providers and 1,200 community health workers to provide advice and assistance about pregnancy, child care, and improved nutrition.
