PIPS is a system that maintains the Security/Suitability Investigations Index (SII) for OPM. It contains over 11 million background investigation records of Federal employees, military personnel, and contractors. It allows USAID/SEC direct access to those records for use in its security investigations. Security Offices can conduct online SII searches, request files, transmit messages, record OFI Form 79 notifications, enter Special Agreement Checks, and monitor the progress of their cases.
