The Tropical Forest Alliance 2020 (TFA 2020) is a global public-private partnership that aims to reduce deforestation linked to key global commodities and protect the tropical forests that provide food and livelihoods for millions of people.

More than 1 billion people around the world depend on forests for sustenance or livelihood activities.

Improving the management of tropical forests can alleviate poverty, while also curbing global climate pollution and conserving biodiversity and natural landscapes.

In many countries where USAID works, tropical forest loss is the single largest source of climate pollution.

The Tropical Forest Alliance 2020 (TFA 2020) is a global public-private partnership that brings together key government, business and civil society actors committed to curbing tropical deforestation linked to major commodities such as palm oil, soy, beef, and paper and pulp.

TFA 2020 was founded in 2012 by the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) and the U.S. Government. Today TFA 2020 has expanded to include more than 70 partners and continues to bring on board key public and private sector actors committed to tackling deforestation.

Since 2015, the Tropical Forest Alliance Secretariat is hosted by the World Economic Forum in Geneva, with financial support from Norway and the United Kingdom.
