Completion of CASC project in Azerbaijan

Today, around 40 stakeholders came together to mark the successful completion of the Consolidated Action for Sustained Changes (CASC) program, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Save the Children. The goal of the conference was to draw attention to the difficulties faced by vulnerable populations, and highlight how their needs can be addressed in local communities by developing stronger support system for vulnerable children in Azerbaijan.

USAID and OSCE to combat human trafficking

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Office in Baku today signed a grant agreement to co-operate on combating trafficking in persons and strengthen access to justice in Azerbaijan. Michael Greene, USAID/Azerbaijan Mission Director, and Ambassador Koray Targay, Head of OSCE Office in Baku, signed the agreement.

After four years of successful collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other national partners, the Primary Health Care Strengthening (PHCS) project funded by U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is ending in October 2011. Today the project held its final conference to mark its closing and speak about its successes in the past four years.

Azerbaijani Social Workers Explore the Turkish Child Protection Model

Today, social workers from Azerbaijan shared the results of a successful study tour to Turkey organized by the Consolidated Action for Sustained Changes (CASC) program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Save the Children. The goal of the tour, which took place from 15 to 19 August, was to strengthen collaboration between the Ministry of Education and local communities by developing stronger support for vulnerable children in Azerbaijan by observing best practices in Turkey in the sphere.

New Milk Collection Facility Opens in Goranboy

A new milk collection facility was opened on May 19, 2011 in Veyisli village of Goranboy district that will allow dairy farmers in the Veyisli community to sell their milk to commercial processors, increasing income for local residents.
