USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Thomas Melia, and Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti delivered remarks today at a round table consultative event on agriculture financing organized by USAID's AgroCapital project. In a three-year span, AgroCapital, implemented by Creative Business Solutions (CBS), supported $14.8 million USD in financing for Albanian farmers and agribusinesses.

A ceremony was held to mark the completion of work carried out at Vlora’s Regional Directorate of Public Professional Training to make it accessible for persons with disabilities. Now persons with disabilities who want to take professional courses and enter the job market can attend courses independently and without physical barriers.

U.S. Ambassador to Albania Donald Lu, Prime Minister Edi Rama, and Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Water Administration Edmond Panariti, toured the reconstructed greenhouse tunnels of farmer, Xhemil Hamataj, today in Kafaraj (Fier) to see the new technologies introduced by USAID as part of its $750,000 worth of flood assistance to the region.
