Finding judicial decisions in Albania is now much easier. The Magistrates’ Schools, with USAID support, has built an online portal which allows judges, prosecutors, lawyers, students and the general public to search a database of judicial decisions from 1999 to the present.

POGRADEC, MAY 8, 2013 USAID joined in the celebrations on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Albanian Justice Day by supporting the Pogradeci District Court to organize an Open Day at the court. This was the first such activity in the newly-refurbished courthouse inaugurated on December 3, 2012. The activities included a mock trial on a domestic violence case, and a court knowledge competition with the participation of local high school students, as well as a roundtable between members of the public and the court leadership and staff.

VORA, APRIL 15, 2013 U.S. Ambassador to Albania, Alexander Arvizu went to the “Mirësia” Wheelchair Factory in Vora to participate in a ceremony recognizing the Albanian Disability Rights Foundation’s (ADRF) and USAID’s work to support employment of people with disabilities, particularly Albanian youth. At the ceremony the Ambassador distributed certificates to young disabled persons who completed training in job coaching and counseling.

TIRANA, MARCH 28, 2013 The U.S. Embassy introduced today the U.S. Government programs that will support Albania's 2013 Parliamentary Elections. U.S. Ambassador to Tirana, Alexander Arvizu, Chairwoman of the Central Elections Commission, Lefteri Lleshi, Deputy Chair of the Central Elections Commission, Denar Biba, and representatives from civil society participated in the launch.

TIRANA, MARCH 15, 2013 With the support from the USAD’s Competitive Enterprise Development project (Rritje Albania), Microsoft Albania, and Albania’s Ministries of Education and Science and Innovation and ICT, Albania held its second Imagine Cup Competition to support technology and innovation to advance economic and social developments in Albania.
