TIRANA - Finding judicial decisions in Albania is now much easier. The Magistrates’ Schools, with USAID support, has built an online portal which allows judges, prosecutors, lawyers, students and the general public to search a database of judicial decisions from 1999 to the present. Now all Supreme Court Unifying Decisions or those of its United Colleges are searchable at: http://jurisdocsmagjistratura.edu.al/.

The online Supreme Court Decisions Database can also be accessed through the Magistrates’ School website at: www.magjistratura.edu.al. The Magistrates School will administer and update the database. USAID supported the project to strengthen judicial practices in the country and support legal scientific study in general.

The launching of the Database takes place in the week of activities dedicated to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Albanian justice, and is organized under the auspices of the President of the Republic.

USAID’s Albanian Justice Sector Strengthening Project (JuST) is a project to increase court transparency, fairness and efficiency; bolster watchdog and anti-corruption roles of civil society organizations and media; and strengthen the legal profession and education in Albania.
