Jeanne Pryor is Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Middle East bureau of USAID, with a portfolio that includes Lebanon, Jordan and West Bank/Gaza.
She joined the bureau as the Director of the Office of Middle East Affairs (Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, West Bank/Gaza, and Egypt) in July, 2016, after graduating from the National War College with a Masters in National Security Studies.
Prior to the War College, Pryor was the Director for the Office of Afghanistan Affairs from 2011-2015 and Deputy Director for the Office of Iraq Reconstruction from 2006 thru 2010.
On 9/11, Ms. Pryor began work on contingency planning for Afghanistan, which ultimately led to her becoming the Team Leader for Afghanistan from 2002 to 2006. In the 1990s, Ms. Pryor worked in the Office of East Africa Affairs, first as a Program Analyst and then as a Desk Officer on the Horn of Africa.
She received a Masters in International Affairs from the American University and Bachelors degree from DePaul University.
