The Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) has approved an environmentally friendly rating of the U.S. Agency for International Development new office building in Pretoria. The final design received the council’s four-star rating, in recognition of best practice, in November 2014. The GBCSA now has awarded the building’s final as-built design a five-star certification, which recognizes South African excellence.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) intends to host an Industry Day on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 for the forthcoming solicitation for the USAID Basic Education Monitoring and Evaluation contract. This event is FREE and OPEN to the PUBLIC: however, registration is required. Organizations are asked to register by submitting their organization’s name and address, names of attendees (not more than 2 per organization), and a brief synopsis of the organization’s services and experience by e-mail to EducationSA@usaid.gov no later than Monday, April 25, 2016, at 17:00 (SAST). The vast Limpopo River rises in South Africa and flows eastward as it makes its way toward the Indian Ocean. Its course marks South Africa's border with Botswana and Zimbabwe before it turns south, flowing into the Indian Ocean in Mozambique. An impressive 18 million people live alongside the river, depending on it for farming, fishing, tourism and other means of income. The Limpopo's vast watershed includes Johannesburg (southern Africa's largest city), Kruger Park (one of the region's largest tourist attractions), two national capitals, and important industrial and agricultural sites.
