ŠABAC The Minister of Justice Nikola Selaković and Ambassador Michael D. Kirby opened and toured the newly renovated Šabac Misdemeanor Court.   The court was renovated with financial support from USAID.

During the facility upgrade, “one-stop-shop” intake and information counters were installed and other courthouse spaces were re-engineered to allow for improvements in workflow and a more efficient execution of court functions.  The transformed court facility in Šabac now includes customer service-oriented registry offices, renovated courtrooms, and an improved public reception area with signage and scheduling information readily available to court users.

This comprehensive facility intervention, coupled with the USAID Judicial Reform and Government Accountability project’s previous technical and material assistance, will dramatically improve working operations at one of the largest misdemeanor courts in Serbia.

Through its Judicial Reform and Government Accountability project, USAID helps strengthen Serbia’s rule of law by boosting the transparency and efficiency of the judiciary, in particular the Misdemeanor and Administrative Courts.
