WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Agency for International Development Assistant Administrator for Global Health Ariel Pablos-Méndez will travel to Mexico City for the Global Maternal Newborn Health Conference from October 17-October 21. The Global Maternal Newborn Health Conference will discuss strategies for reaching every mother and every newborn with high quality health care. It is at a key time to discuss turning the vision of the new Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Secretary General's new Global Strategy for Women's, Children's, and Adolescents' Health into reality and achieving the global goal of ending preventable child and maternal deaths.
While in Mexico, Assistant Administrator Pablos-Méndez will offer reflections during the welcome ceremony of the conference and will deliver remarks on the importance of financing. He will also speak at a journalist training and meet with aspiring Mexican scientists.
