WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Acting Administrator Alfonso Lenhardt will travel to Atlanta, GA on Thursday June 18 and Friday June 19. He will be accompanied by Assistant Administrator for Global Health Ariel Pablos-Méndez.
While in Atlanta Lenhardt will meet with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Tom Frieden and staff. They will discuss closer cooperation between the two agencies and ways to enhance disease outbreak surveillance around the world. Lenhardt will also meet the incoming President of CARE USA Michelle Nunn and will attend a round-table discussion with leaders from several Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
