The U.S. government, through the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines’ United States Agency for International Development (USAID), partnered today with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to launch a new biodiversity conservation project that will help protect and manage the Philippines’ diverse habitats and species.
As part of its commitment to help Typhoon Yolanda (internationally named Haiyan) survivors build back better, the U.S. government turned over eight new classrooms to Tolosa National High School students and faculty. The ceremony was held on the third anniversary of Typhoon Yolanda.

Director Sastry was welcomed by Bohol officials, led by Governor Edgar Chatto and Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II.
During July 18-22, 2016, the U.S. Embassy Manila’s United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through its partnership with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), trained 50 officials from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and Bureau of Fire Protection in forest fire management.
