Social Inclusion through Technology

Objectives

The overall goal of the project is to assist young people with disabilities enterthe workforce in Macedonia, specifically in the fast growing information technology (IT)sector, and to helpdisabled persons' organizations (DPOs) to improve the employment-related skills ofyouth with disabilities.

Components

  • Develop new vocational training modalities for young people with disabilities that combine online  training and practical training in companies.
  • Promote  inclusive integration and increased participation of young people with disabilities in the IT sector in Macedonia.
  • Improve the spectrum of services that DPOs working with young people with disabilities  offer in the area of workforce inclusion and job skills training.

Results

  • A platform developed with a bundle of IT, soft skills, and business knowledge courses accessible for persons with different types of disabilities.
  • Persons with disabilities equipped with  skills necessary for employment.
  • Increased awareness of the potential of persons with disabilties and theirimproved integration in companies from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector in cooperation with MASIT, the Macedonian Chamber of IT Companies.
  • Persons with disabilties gain internship experience; and
  • Persons with disabilitiesgain employment in the IT sector.
