USAID Administrator to Speak at FHI 360 World AIDS Day Event

"Rights in Action" focuses on key populations affected by HIV

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Rajiv Shah will speak at "Rights in Action," a World AIDS Day event that will launch the Agency's LINKAGES project. LINKAGES, funded by the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through USAID and implemented by FHI 360, is the largest PEPFAR-supported project for key populations affected by HIV.

Other speakers include A. Cornelius Baker, Deputy Coordinator for Affected Populations and Civil Society Leadership, Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator; and Lisa Carty, Director, U.S. Liaison Office, UNAIDS.

WHAT: Leaders in global health will gather to mark World AIDS Day and discuss progress and challenges in combating HIV, as well as the latest advances and innovations aimed at ensuring that prevention, treatment and care reaches key populations (defined as men who have sex with men, sex workers, injecting drug users, and transgender persons) and their partners.
