Amman - As part of the continuing cooperation between the United States and energy industry stakeholders in Jordan, the Energy Service Provider (ESP) Business Forum was held on the 4th and 5th of October to expand business opportunities and increase the business agility and technical capability of Jordan’s energy services companies. The Coalition of Energy Services Associations (CESA), in partnership with the USAID Energy Sector Capacity Building (ESCB) Activity and the National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO), organized the Business Forum at the Four Seasons Hotel in Amman.

The Forum was attended by more than 200 participants, including government representatives, energy associations, energy service providers (ESPs), energy efficiency and renewable energy equipment vendors and manufacturers, energy consumers, utilities and financial institutions.

“We at USAID realize the increasing energy challenges that Jordan is facing. Challenges that have had great social impacts and have caused huge financial burdens on the government and on the competitiveness of Jordan’s private sector”, said Charles North, USAID Acting Assistant Administrator.

The Forum gave an update to Jordanian ESPs on the latest trends in the industry worldwide, and introduced the newly launched ESP accreditation system that was developed by CESA and inspired by NAESCO’s existing accreditation system in the US. In addition, the ESP Business Forum served as a platform to create business linkages between ESPs and their potential customers.

“The launch of an ESP accreditation system in Jordan through constructive cooperation between the USAID-ESCB, CESA and NEASCO will help upgrade the competitiveness of the energy sector in Jordan and could also be applied throughout the region”, said Eng. Abdullah Bdeir, CESA Chairman.

Several leading energy service providers in Jordan exhibited their products and services to showcase some of the solutions and technologies they can provide to consumers to help them save on their energy bills.
