Friday, June 3, 2016

Tbilisi--Officials from USAID, representatives from the Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN), and co-owners of Ezo restaurant gathered for the public opening of a photo exhibition in honor of World Environment Day. The exhibition will be shown at Ezo through Sunday, June 5.

The exhibited photos were selected from the GREEN LENS Facebook photo contest on www.fb.com/usaidgeorgia. The contest, which was co-organized by USAID, CENN, and Ezo, harnessed the power of social media to raise awareness about environmental issues throughout Georgia.

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5th to raise global awareness and inspire people to take action to protect the planet. Through USAID, the American people are committed to collaborating with the Georgian people to protect the country’s natural beauty and to meet their international commitments regarding climate change. Social media campaigns like this one can enable people to come together in large numbers to address the world’s most pressing issues.
