SARANDE, MAY 9, 2015 - The Mayor of Saranda, Stefan Çipa, and USAID’s Country Representative, Marcus Johnson, launched today the new computerized tax system and the new municipality E-service portal. The systems were developed through USAID’s Planning and Local Governance Project in Albania (PLGP).
TIRANA--USAID and local NGO Assist Impact signed eight grant agreements today to support democracy in Albania. The grants seek to increase citizen’s participation in decision-making, support community building, and hold public officials accountable.
USAID and Terre des hommes signed 10 memorandum agreements with local organizations to fund small, grassroots projects to prevent trafficking of children in Albania.
U.S. Ambassador to Albania, Donald Lu, joined today Albania’s Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, and members of the Coalition for Free and Fair Elections and for Sustainable Democracy (CFFE) to announce the finding and recommendations of a survey on primary healthcare facilities in Albania.
USAID is supporting the Government of Albania to draft the law to reflect current economic and territorial changes which will allow better management of local resources and provision of services for Albanian citizens.
