The Office of Private Capital and Microenterprise (PCM) works with stakeholders, including investors, intermediaries, USAID missions and bureaus, to deploy grant funding, risk mitigation, and/or advisory support to mobilize private capital. USAID’s transaction support creates replicable activities that can be quickly adopted in other regions and sectors to work at scale.

Example of PCM’s Direct Transaction Support include:

  • The CrossBoundary Energy Partnership: USAID and CrossBoundary Energy are working together to provide businesses with a new model for energy services. The solution finances solar installations that serve enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa, increasing access to electricity and driving adoption of renewable energy technology – primary goals under Power Africa.
