For Immediate Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator R. David Harden will visit Iraq, Jordan, Turkey, and Kuwait from Aug. 22 - Sept. 1, 2016.
During his trip, Harden will meet with people displaced by the conflicts in Syria and Iraq and the communities that are generously hosting them in Jordan and Turkey. He will visit USAID projects that are providing life-saving assistance to the displaced, as well as efforts to bolster basic services for host communities and refugees.
While in Turkey, Harden will visit Robert College, which USAID has funded since 1960, making it one of the oldest USAID projects in Turkey. The school has graduated two Turkish prime ministers, four Bulgarian prime ministers, and a Nobel Prize recipient. The visit will underscore an enduring partnership between the United States and Turkey.
