Washington, D.C. – On July 22, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Rajiv Shah and Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus will participate in a town hall discussion with USAID staff. The discussion will focus on global development and the challenges of eliminating extreme poverty.

Muhammad Yunus is a Bangladeshi banker, economist and Nobel Peace Prize recipient. He founded Grameen Bank, a revolutionary micro-credit system as a cost-effective and scalable weapon to fight poverty. Since launching USAID Forward, USAID has worked to implement a new model of development focusing on innovation, private sector participation, and government partnership. This open exchange will highlight these efforts and the way forward.
