WASHINGTON, D.C. – On MONDAY, MAY 19, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Rajiv Shah and guests from across the public and private sectors will gather in Arlington, Va., to announce four years of results from President Obama’s Feed the Future initiative. In 2009, President Obama mobilized the world to renew its commitment to fight poverty and hunger through agricultural development and a focus on improved nutrition—especially for children and women—and created the multi-agency Feed the Future initiative with broad global support from the public and private sectors. Under the leadership of Administrator Shah, Feed the Future is on a path to reduce global hunger and poverty through partnerships with developing countries, civil society, research institutions, and the private sector.

On May 19-21, global leaders from the United States and abroad who are driving Feed the Future’s work will highlight the results achieved thus far and map out how to accelerate progress toward ending extreme poverty, hunger and malnutrition in the decades ahead.
