The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) at USAID released a report today on USAID’s Cuban Civil Society Support Program.  The OIG found that USAID has already completed action on several of its recommendations.  The Agency will complete action on the remaining recommendations by July 16, 2016.

USAID seeks to continuously improve our design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of programs to safeguard our partners and ensure greater effectiveness and efficiency.

The OIG report states that USAID's program in Cuba was consistent with U.S. legislation and designed to support activities "that expand the reach and impact of independent civil society in Cuba."  The program provided tools to citizens to engage on locally-defined concerns through citizen participation.

*This statement originally stated that all recommendations would completed by March 1, 2016. The correct date is July 16, 2016.
