SADC, Sep 9, 2014: Meeting with USAID

SADC Deputy Executive Secretary for Regional Integration, Dr Thembinkosi Mhlongo met a delegation of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Southern Africa on Tuesday September 09, 2014 at SADC Secretariat.

Led by Pretoria-based USAID/Southern Africa Regional Deputy Mission Director, Mr. Littleton Tazewell the delegation’s visit to the Secretariat aims to discuss regional integration issues of mutual interest. Dr Mhlongo updated the delegation about the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan while Mr Tazewell gave an overview of USAID/Southern Africa Structure and Programmes.

During the meeting the two parties also shared their expectations on the modalities for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Agreement between them. This included a discussion on the roles and responsibilities and the delineation of duties between SADC, USAID and third party institutions.
